TAC (Technical Assistant Contract) merupakan kontrak kerjasama khusus merehabilitasi sumur2 tua/ lapangan2 tua milik PERTAMINA. Kenaikan hasil produksi dari kontrak kerjasama ini yang kemudian dibagi antara PERTAMINA dan Partner.
Wilayah yang di TAC-kan hanya sebagian kecil dari Wilayah Besar yang dikuasai oleh PERTAMINA.

“WORK means all and any part of the works and services required to be performed by CONTRACTOR under the CONTRACT for the full and complete realization of the PLANT, …”. Apabila didalam kontrak ada kata yang ditulis dalam huruf besar (dan mungkin juga ditebalkan), maka kata tsb memiliki definisi yang bisa ditemui umumnya di bagian awal kontrak. Kutipan tersebut diatas diambil dari bagian definisi. Jika didalam badan kontrak tsb anda menemui kata work yang ditulis dalam huruf besar, maka berarti kata work tsb mengacu ke definisi kata work spt dalam kutipan. Sedangkan kata work yang ditulis dalam huruf kecil dapat diartikan secara harafiah yaitu work = kerja.

Ilmu piping , kadang tidak didapat di bangku kuliah jadi memang harus belajar dulu.
Dan memang harus tatap muka karena banyak yang harus di pelajari dengan metode tatap muka. Misalnya membuat /membaca P&ID, Piping Layout, Isometric layout, pengetahuan mengenai komponen-komponen dari suatu piping system dll. Dan ini harus dikuasai bila menjadi seorang Piping Engineer.

Rowan memindahkan rig di Teluk Mexico ke Timur Tengah

Rowan Cos. Inc. mengatakan dua dari jack up drilling rigsnya diharapkan akan meninggalkan Teluk Mexico akhir tahun ini untuk pengerjaan di Timur Tengah berdasarkan kontrak dengan Saudi Aramco.

| Saudi Arabia raises October crude oil prices |
|
Saudi Aramco has raised official October selling prices for all crude grades for customers in Asia, the US, Northwest Europe and the Mediterranean Sea, Bloomberg has reported. The price of Arab Super Light crude increased by 75 cents a barrel to a premium of above the benchmark Dubai price assessment published by Platts, a person familiar with the rates said. Among US shipments, Aramco increased Extra Light and Arab Heavy prices by 5 cents a barrel each to a premium of .20 a barrel above the Argus Sour Crude Index and to a discount of .3 a barrel below the benchmark for the denser grade.

| Sepco III and Al-Arrab win Ras al-Zour contract |

Saudi Arabia's Saline Water Conversion Corp (SWCC) has awarded Al-Arrab Contracting Co (ACC) and its Chinese partner Sepco III Electric Power Construction Corp the .42bn contract to build the electricity generation component of the Ras al-Zour power and water project, Meed has reported. The combined-cycle power plant will have a capacity of 2,800MW when the three and a half year contract is completed in early 2014.

| Dana Gas discovers new gas well in Egypt |
|
UAE-based Dana Gas said it has made another gas discovery in Egypt, the firm's fourth gas find in the country. The well, South Abu El Naga-1ST in the Nile Delta region, has preliminary estimated reserves of 50 to 90 billion standard cubic feet of gas, with 1 to 2 million barrels of associated condense, Dana said in a statement.

| Yemen to offer rights to 15 hydrocarbon blocks |
|
Yemen's oil minister, Amir al-Aidarous, has said announced that the country plans to offer next month the rights to develop 15 offshore hydrocarbon blocks as it seeks to boost production, Bloomberg has reported. Yemen will offer the blocks to international companies during a two-day conference in Sana'a in October, he said. A lack of exploration activity over the last ten years caused the production drop, al-Aidarous said. "There is a decline not because of the non-availability of oil, but because of the absence of an exploration vision," he noted

| Dependence on Opec oil to rise, says IEA |

The International Energy Agency has said that worldwide reliance on the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) for crude oil is expected to rise in the next five to 10 years as output by non-Opec nations falls, AFP has reported. "We have seen an increase in non-Opec supplies. But in the mid-term, non-Opec production will decline," Nobuo Tanaka, the agency's executive director, told reporters on the sidelines of a conference in New Delhi. "So dependency on Opec oil will increase," he said.
